The best shoegaze album or EP by year

The rather wonderul EEP have been running various twitter polls over the last few weeks to find the best shoegaze release for each year since 1988.

The shortlist for each year was picked by their followers to go into a poll and the winners are all listed below and rather fine they are.

I think it’s fair to say that 2001 wasn’t a classic year for releases with the winner being the Lush ‘best of’ compilation released a full 5 years after they split.
