This week we celebrate the Velvet Underground, without doubt one of the most influential bands of the last century and an obvious influence on the shoegaze scene of the early 90’s.
There have been many, many cover versions of Velvet Underground songs released over the years and we pick a selection for this show featuring some usual choices like Galaxie 500, Yo La Tengo, Chapterhouse, Ride and The Telescopes. There’s also some other choices I think you’ll really enjoy from the likes of Strawberry Switchblade and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds alongside early 90s indie bands like The Dylans, The Motorcycle Boy and The Lovekittens
